Math Binder
All students are required to have a math binder with them for each math class. I went over the set up of the math binder in grade 7 and again in August of 2015. They also have a binder checklist they were given that outlines how to set up the math binder.

A 2015 summer letter was sent home outlining supplies needed for setting up the math binder. Students received a table of contents on with the information on how to set up their math binder. Most students were able to complete this in class.
Office Hours
Tuesday's and Thursday's, 8:00 - 8:35. Please do not arrive before 8:00 unless arrangements are made.

Please note that I will not have office hours 8/24/15-9/4/15 or 5/31/16-6/10/16. I will be in the cafeteria monitoring students until 8:30.

If a student needs help during the aforementioned dates, please see me after math class or before lunch to arrange an alternative date and time.
Math Assignments
Please refer to the NEO calendar.

It is fine if your son/daughter chooses to write their assignment in a daily planner from the whiteboard in the classroom or type it using the calendar feature on their laptop.

Assignments are due on time. The only exception is an absence. Students that are absent are responsible for making up their assignment. For each day a student is absent, they have a one math class extension. Late assignments are not accepted. Students will receive a grade of a 50. There will not be extra credit assignments given to replace assignments that were not completed.

All assignments are do be done in pencil. The assignments are graded on completion, correct answers, neatness, showing work that displays understanding, and the organization of problems where math work is easy to follow and answers are highlighted. There is a homework rubric in your son/daughter's math binder that outlines this.
Grading
Accountability (permission slips due on time, contracts due on time, binder checks) 10%
Homework and Class Participation 30%
Quizzes 25%
Tests 35%

The aforementioned grading scheme is the same for CMP 8 and CMP 8+.

A three day notice will be given before an assessment.

The grades will be updated weekly on NEO.
